Ledgermatch Reconciliation
Reconcile a bank export against your books and list every unmatched item.
Ledgermatch Reconciliation matches a bank export (CSV, Excel or a text PDF statement) against the cash account in your books (QuickBooks, Xero, Wave or a spreadsheet). It matches by check number, by amount and date, and finds one deposit that equals several invoices. All unmatched rows on both sides are listed and classified: outstanding checks, deposits in transit, bank fees and interest not in the books, likely duplicates and likely amount typos. The adjusted bank balance is compared with the adjusted book balance in the standard format, with PASS only at a $0.00 difference.
What it does
- Matches by check number, same amount on the same date, same amount within a date window, and one deposit = several entries (bounded search)
- Lists every unmatched bank and book row with a classification: outstanding check, deposit in transit, bank fee, interest, NSF, likely duplicate, likely typo
- Detects amount typos: transposed digits, one wrong digit, reversed sign, decimal slip, check number with a different amount
- Standard reconciliation: bank balance + deposits in transit - outstanding checks vs book balance + bank-only items + corrections
- Explains a difference: the smallest set of items that accounts for it
- Excel workbook (Matched, Bank only, Book only, Suggested adjustments, Summary) and a PDF reconciliation statement
Try asking
“Reconcile my bank statement against my books for September and list what doesn't match”
“Why is my bank reconciliation off by $243.18?”
“Match this bank CSV to my QuickBooks register and list outstanding checks”
Limitations
- Text PDFs only for bank statements (scans need OCR first)
- Up to 20,000 rows per file
- Suggested adjustments are not accounting advice; review them before posting
